Cyber stalking has become a common issue these days. According to a survey third of the people questioned had broken into their partner’s emails at least once.
It’s hard to see if you are crossing the line, purely because as long as you are not intruding on somebody’s physical space, it’s easy to think that you are not doing anything wrong… but this issue is getting serious.
So, make sure that you are not getting obsessed with checking others’ profiles on social networking sites, and to stay safe read below some useful tips on how to protect yourself:
- Install anti-spyware on your computer,
- Use separate email accounts for close friends, social networking sites and so on,
- Turn off geo-location apps on your phone and cameras,
- Use different passwords for your key accounts and don’t pick words a stalker might guess.
- If you are using a friend’s computer, don’t allow it to remember your details.
- Do not share your passwords.
